From Trash to Treasure

I have always been a bit obsessed about picking up litter as I move through this world. I feel like it’s my duty as a resident on earth to do my part, to leave a place neater than when I arrived. I also have a deep passion for the beauty of nature, especially the gorgeous beaches of Northern Michigan.

People who’ve never seen the Great Lakes can’t fathom how truly massive they are. They are like the ocean with water as far as the eye can see, but different in the cadence of the waves. Living in Charlevoix, MI for the past ten years, I’ve seen the shores change over the years, from lowering and rising lake levels.

I have always been passionate about the beautiful world we live in, and this is my tribute to what nature provides.  The pieces of my work have all been collected from the shores of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior.  For every piece of treasure, at least one piece of trash was also collected.

My Motto for those who visit our lovely beaches:

“Pick up Trash and Treasure in Equal Measure”

(you get to decide which is which!)
